about us

I joined toastmasters because my boss became very good at public speaking after joining a speakers club, and I was impressed when i visited Windsor Speakers. When i first joined the club, I was very nervous giving speeches and presentations for work.

Now I have delivered many presentations, confidently, at ease with no signs of nervousness thanks to Windsor Speakers. Joining has many benefits and is far more effective than following a course for a few days.

Windsor Speakers provides the structure, support, encouragement, feedback and the required learning experience to become a better speaker.

Club President.

Whether doing a presentation or talking with a group of people, I generally did not feel confident enough. I realised that I had to take steps to improve my communication skills, as this is a key skill required every single day. I joined Windsor Speakers, one of the Toastmasters International clubs and I have found this is a fantastic place to rapidly progress in improving my communication skills and to overcome my fear of public speaking.

Windsor speakers has offered me a good platform where I can gain all the tools and resources I need to hone my speaking and leadership skills for my personal and professional development. Each club meeting is a fun process. Here we learn by doing. Giving and receiving positive feedback is a pleasurable learning experience. Moreover, it provides a great atmosphere to make friends and meet new like-minded people. I invite you to come and make use of this friendly and very supportive environment which would indubitably have a positive impact on your life.

Club Secretary.

I joined Toastmasters in order to develop my skills in public speaking. My job does not offer much opportunity for me to do this regularly but once a year or so, I would be expected to deliver a presentation in front of a large (and usually very senior) audience which would fill me with dread. I did not want my practice time to be in situations like this! Thankfully Windsor Speakers offer the opportunity to gain consistent and varied practice on a regular basis.

Windsor Speakers is a friendly and supportive environment for people of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, the more experienced members of the club offer valuable feedback through mentoring or evaluations which will help you on your journey to become the public speaker that you want to be.

Windsor speakers is a club that is well worth a visit. Visit us first as a guest and you will be warmly welcomed and enjoy listening to the entertaining speeches from other club members. There is no pressure to do anything that you do not want to do. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Vice President of Public Relations.

I joined Windsor Speakers having moved to the area not long after leaving university. I was looking for a way to get to know new people and also to continue learning new skills and building confidence in myself and my abilities.

The supportive culture of the club has helped me to realise the skills that I already have and those that I can improve upon. Being a member of Windsor Speakers pushes me outside of my comfort zone to achieve what i would otherwise avoid doing. Positive feedback and encouragement are two of the most important aspects of the club that will make you want to return and deliver more speeches, improving each time.

Vice President of Membership.

I joined Windsor Speakers as I wanted to develop a new skill. Having watched the professionals deliver speeches I thought this would be a distant dream. The idea of standing in front of an audience gave me goose bumps. After joining Toastmasters I very quickly appreciated the ability to develop public speaking skills was very much within my grasp. Iíve found the journey extremely rewarding. Having been a Toastmaster for over five years now Iím still an enthusiastic member.

Iím now able to stand in front of an audience and present without nerves and with complete confidence. I feel empowered and energised rather than the bag of nerves I was when I delivered my first speech. Not only have I developed a great new skill but Iíve also made some good friendships along the way.

Windsor Speakers Club provides a wonderfully friendly and supportive environment for people of any age, nationality, background and profession. You will notice a difference after just a few speeches. Project manuals are well structured and concentrate on specific elements which take you through your initial speech to becoming a competent communicator after just ten speeches. Every speech is evaluated, providing constructive feedback and individual support is on hand through the mentoring program.

Everyone has to start somewhere .... donít feel daunted or shy, Windsor Speakers provides an excellent platform to begin your speaking career. Itís a great club and worth a visit. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Social Secretary.

I initially joined Toastmasters because I was performing poorly in job interviews and was generally not confident in public speaking situations. I realised that to improve I would need to gain the consistent practice that Windsor Speakers provides.

Windsor Speakers has given me the chance to practice my presentation skills in an encouraging and supportive environment and receive valuable feedback from more experienced members of the club. I have been able to practice a range of different public speaking techniques to make my speeches more engaging.

When not speaking, I enjoy listening to the varied and interesting speeches of other club members, it is certainly more entertaining than an evening in front of the TV!

I have also had the chance to take on leadership roles such as the Vice President of Education role which I currently fulfil. This involves encouraging members to take on meeting roles and updating our website with role bookings.

I have certainly found attending Windsor Speakers to be hugely beneficial and enjoyable. I would encourage you to visit us, you will certainly be welcomed.

Vice President of Education.

I am the Finance Director of an I.T. company, and like a lot of finance people I have never been very confident at speaking to groups of people. I was recommended to Toastmasters by a friend who had been a member, and I immediately found it a helpful, supportive and friendly environment.

I have been a member for less than a year, but I have already done a few speeches and done some 'evaluating' of others, which really helps in the way that telling other people how to do something always makes you think really hard about it yourself.

It has already helped me enormously in work presentations and in addressing our staff meetings.

Club Treasurer.

I joined Toastmasters in order to become more confident and overcome my fear of public speaking. Being aware I could be called upon anytime at work to do a presentation I knew it was important for me to develop my speaking ability, especially in order for me to progress in my career.

Prior to joining I had attended a couple of presentation skills courses which lasted no longer than one day, however it was only until I attended Windsor Speakers I realised that this is far more effective, and exactly what I needed in order to build my confidence. Windsor Speakers has provided me with the opportunity to practice prepared speeches and impromptu speaking in front of an audience whilst also gaining invaluable feedback at the same time.

With a friendly and supportive environment, Windsor Speakers is ideal for anyone looking to improve their speaking skills. I invite you to come and experience it for yourself, I can guarantee you will be warmly welcomed.
